0309 GMT [Dow Jones] Bursa Malaysia palm oil prices dropped sharply lower on the market opener as weakness in the oilseed complex in overseas markets weighed on palm oil, with prices now at levels not seen since October 2015. The oilseed complex comprises rapeseed oil, canola oil, palm oil, etc. Soybean prices overnight tumbled to a two-month low as concerns eased over adverse weather during the summer growing season and worries emerged over export demand for the crop. The Bursa Malaysia three-month palm oil contract is trading down 114 ringgit a ton at 2241 ringgit a ton. (lucy.craymer[a]wsj.com;Twitter: [a]lucy_craymer)
